Well, our animals have now been spayed. What an ordeal for both of them but I think more so for Cali (my poor baby). Below are some pictures and tidbits about the days of and after the surgeries. Oh, and do you notice anything strange???

Here's Dee Dee in the house with Cali. This is the only time Cali really went up to Dee Dee. Cali was usually hiding when Dee Dee was awake. Not only did Dee Dee get spayed, but she also had her on protruding Dew-claw removed in the back (hence the bandage on the back foot).

Here is my baby Cali. She was finally able to get some sleep after an exhausting day of going back to the vet 3 times. When I got her home I noticed some blood on the floor and thought something happened to her incision on her stomach. I checked and nothing. Then I decided to check her foot. I noticed skin hanging from one of the pads on her foot. I called the vet and had to go back so they can check it out. It turns out that the person that was clipping her nails had accidentally clipped the pad while Cali was asleep (Cali had kicked while she was under). After I got back home the 2nd time, I got a call from the vets and that's when I found out the story and got their after hours number in case the pad didn't stop bleeding (which it didn't). So I called and returned a 3rd time that day. This is the result of going there the 3rd time (the bandaged foot). Poor baby!!! She keeps shaking her foot to try and remove the bandage. I've sprayed "bitter apple" to try and keep her from pulling the bandage off (like Dee Dee had done).

Well, here is Cali a few days later. A new bandage on her foot and a bandage around her middle. Jas and I put the bandage around her middle because she keeps licking her stomach (for some reason). After I took Cali to the vet for a foot checkup, I had mentioned her stomach wasn't looking too good because she's still licking it. We've tried to make her stop, but she wouldn't (we put the bandage on Sunday night (4/18/04) and removed it 4/19/04 for the vet appointment. So, they gave us the radar dish (see picture below).

Well, we put this on her and she didn't like it at all. She ended up walking backwards with her head down hoping the thing would fall off. Then she walked to the wall (see below pic) and just stayed there for a few seconds. We sort of freaked out a little and removed the collar. When I got back from my appointments, Cali had licked off all the ointment the vet put on, so we put the bandage back on around her middle. I'm hoping all this will be over soon!!!!!
